How it works

   Start with saved contacts

   Free is permanently free and ad-free. With protection active, it blocks incoming callers not saved in the phone’s contacts, can explicitly block up to 5 saved contacts, and lets you turn protection on or off. Free does not include DenyCalls blocked-call history.

   Choose Pro for more rules

   Pro includes unlimited saved contacts, individual contacts and groups, exact date ranges and timed rules for multiple contacts, temporary controls, important exceptions, repeat-caller handling, and local blocked-call history retained for up to 30 days with a maximum of 500 entries.

   Local decisions, not spam detection

   Calls are evaluated locally on the Android device. No crowd-sourced or global caller database is used, and no network request is required to decide whether an incoming call rings. If Android cannot confidently identify a contact, DenyCalls allows the call rather than risking a false block.

Setup checklist

Review the setup and check the callers you expect.

1. Install DenyCalls from Google Play. No account, registration, email address, login, activation code, or app PIN is required.
2. Grant the Android permissions and call-screening role requested in the app.
3. Save expected callers in the phone’s contacts. Review any explicit saved-contact blocks.
4. Turn protection on and check its status. You can also turn protection off in Free.
5. Check your settings with a test call from a saved contact.
6. If needed, choose Pro in Google Play for groups, timed rules, and local history.

Who it suits

Limitations to know before you start

Contact matching, Android, and the carrier set limits on behavior.

• If Android cannot confidently identify a contact, DenyCalls allows the call rather than risking a false block.
• Hidden-number and carrier behavior can vary. DenyCalls does not control Android missed-call notifications or carrier SMS notifications.
• New legitimate callers, such as doctors, schools, or deliveries, may be blocked while protection is active. Save expected numbers or adjust protection when needed.
• DenyCalls has no caller ID or spam/fraud detection and gives no guarantee that every unwanted call is stopped.
